THERE IT IS – TAKE IT! funded by the California Story Fund

There It Is – Take It: Looking Back at 100 Years of the Los Angeles Aqueduct has been funded by the California Council for Humanities California Story Fund  for the fall 2011 award cycle.

Kim Stringellow along with project partner, The Friends of the Eastern California Museum located in Independence, CA was funded a $10,000 production grant to complete a web-based multimedia project and self-guided car audio tour that will examine the complex, and often controversial, social, political and environmental history of the Los Angeles Aqueduct through the diverse perspectives of cultural geographers, historians, biologists, activists, environmentalists, native speakers, and residents of Los Angeles and the Owens Valley. The project will be designed for a variety of age groups and include an online forum for public discussion, along with a free download of the audio tour. The project will be publicly released in fall 2012 to coincide with the 100th year anniversary of the aqueduct’s construction completed in 1913.
